About Us
Hey guys! Captain Lex Hunt here!
Adam and I have always clicked since the moment we met. We both have a love for our families and a passion for the outdoors. The first time I went fishing with Adam I knew that it would be a friendship that would last a lifetime and we’ve been fishing together ever since. From our flourishing ecosystems in our marshlands to our beautiful oceans that are full of life, southeastern North Carolina is a gorgeous fishing destination.
January, February, & March we can keep you inshore and fish for speckled trout in our marshes and on our docks or we can get you nearshore and catch Black Sea Bass, Tautog, and Sheepshead. In April and May we have a pretty insane Atlantic Bonito run and they are some of the most fun fish to catch on a spinning rod and absolutely delicious to eat. These migratory pelagic fish are usually only a couple miles off the beach in these months. In June, July, & August we see a large migration of Spanish and King Mackerel that can be caught trolling or casting. During these months we also usually see a migration of Cobia which are some of the best fighting and eating fish around. During these summer months we also get a North Carolina Tarpon migration. These fish can be difficult to find and catch in North Carolina but one of the most prized, rewarding fish you can catch in our waters. During the summer months inshore we have a lot of 5-8 pound sheepshead lurking around our inshore structure. These are one of my favorite fish to catch in this area. In September, October, November we are bombarded with Red Drum & Black Drum, not to mention our flounder fishing is phenomenal. In December we are back to the Speckled Trout & Black Bass. These are just some examples of what we normally catch but you’ve always got to be ready for surprises!
Our offshore experience is one of the most spectacular things you will ever be a part of. Being 60 plus miles out in the ocean is an experience like none other. The sheer color of the water is mind blowing. Our pelagic species include Wahoo, Mahi, Yellowfin, Blackfin, and Bluefin Tuna. Our bottom fishing can produce some of the wildest looking and delicious fish on the planet including Grouper, Snapper, & African Pompano. This experience changed our lives forever and we can only hope it does the same for you!
Adam owns a 25 ft. Sea Hunt Gamefish that is perfect for sending to the Gulf Stream. This is one of the nicest boats I have ever been on. It has all the bells and whistles and all it needs is YOU to come catch the fish! We run the Sea Hunt out of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. I own an 18 ft Carolina Skiff that is perfect for inshore dock fishing and creeks in the marsh. The skiff can also fish nearshore in the ocean very well on weather permitting days and is a a lot of fun. We run the Skiff mostly out of Wilmington, North Carolina but it can be adjusted to the area we want to fish at that time.
Come to our beautiful North Carolina coast and let us share our passion for life and fishing with you!
